January 20, 2022 |

In Switzerland, Empa, the Swiss research institute for applied materials sciences and technology, has announced that a software tool aimed at supporting fleet managers in transforming truck fleet to low-CO2 powertrains jointly developed by the Switzerland’s largest retail company Migros and Empa has been acquired by HERE, a global navigation software company founded by Audi, BMW and Daimler and having as shareholders Intel, Bosch, Continental and the Chinese Tencent Group. The acquired tool is built to calculate the CO2 emissions of trucks with different powertrain systems for any route to show logistics companies worldwide on which routes hydrogen, electric, biogas or biodiesel trucks can be used and how low their CO2 emissions are compared to diesel-powered trucks.
