Ferrari sees E10 cutting 20hp from F1 racing power

February 2, 2022 |

In Italy, Racer reports that the head of Ferrari F1 racing estimates that the switch to E10 this season will result in a loss of 20 horsepower for those running on conventional internal combustion engines. Last season, Ferrari introduced a hybrid model which it says won’t be affected as much as conventional engines by the switch to E10. F1 has committed to introducing new renewable racing fuels to reduce the environmental impact of the sport while pushing teams to innovate that will eventually translate to passenger vehicles over time.
