#3 Delta to debut bamboo cutlery

In Atlanta, Delta has announced it will use bamboo and other biodegradable items for some single-use in-flight service items, such as cutlery. The new bamboo items will first be used for packaged meals in first class before rolling out to the plebs in the main cabin later this year.

The airline expects the switch, as well as other planned changes, to reduce its annual plastics needs by nearly 5 million pounds. It already removed single-use plastic stirrers and straws from flights in 2018.

International business class will also begin seeing “eco-conscious” bedding made from plastic bottles and bamboo toothbrushes in the toiletry kit.
