Renewable diesel demand driving new soy crushing in Nebraska

In Nebraska, the Kearney Hub reports N Bowdish will invest $375 million in a soybean crushing plant near Norfolk, crushing 38.5 million bushels of soybeans annually. The facility aims to be operational in 2024. The growing demand for soybean oil, in part driven by renewable diesel growth, is behind the new facility as well as the 50 million bushel per year facility Ag Processing Inc. announced recently set to open in 2025 near David City.
