February 9, 2022 |

In Brazil, Agencia Brasil reports the environmental minister announced the upcoming Metanol Zero program on national radio that aims to use national banks to transform methane emissions into biofuel. The program is set to launch in 30 days with a focus on MSW and agricultural waste, from livestock to sugarcane. The eventual biogas production is seen as a future fuel for heavy vehicles to offset the country’s diesel dependence where domestic logistics is dominated by trucking.
