In Argentina, Colombia’s La Republica newspaper reports Bahía Energía Group (GBE), a biodiesel producer from Bahía Blanca, wants to establish a foothold in Europe. A joint venture is under discussion with ChemCom Industries from the Netherlands to build an industrial plant in that country. It is a three-year project, from the time its execution is defined, and it would require no less than between $50 million and $60 million.
The project is to build a plant with a processing capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year, which will allow the production of 80,000 tons of bio-monopropylene glycol, a derivative of glycerin with multiple industrial applications.
