March 15, 2022 |

In Zimbabwe, New Zimbabwe reports the planned expansion for the Green Fuel ethanol facility in Chisumbanje will produce 32MW of power with the majority going to the national grid to help alleviate electricity shortages. Ethanol production will reach 220 million liters per year from cane grown on 24,000 hectares. The government recently cut the ethanol blending mandate that had been as high as 20% in years past due to the lack of and variability of ethanol availability.
