Vueling teams up to transform canteen waste oil into biodiesel

In Spain, Europa Press reports Vueling and Grupo Mediterránea have implemented a circular system that transforms the oil from the airline’s canteen into biodiesel. The fuel is said to have 90% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than fossil diesel. Geoli is in charge of collecting and managing the oil, which gives these materials to two refineries. The project is part of a joint initiative to reduce food waste amongst the airline’s catering services that is in line with its wider sustainability objectives.
