French river transport group trialing biofuel

In France, since February, Sogestran Group’s CFT has been experimenting with the PUR-XTL biofuel from Altens. In real operating conditions on the self-propelled Sandre, this six-month experiment on the Seine in Paris is a first in river transport in France. The vessel can reduce 37 truck trips with every voyage. ISCC certified, the PUR-XTL is a premium alternative fuel. Compared to diesel, it reduces up to 90% greenhouse gas emissions, 65% particulates, 25% less carbon monoxide and a third less nitrogen oxide.
