Q: Tell us about your organization. What do you do?

The world desperately needs an alternative to fossil hydrocarbons. AlgEternal (www.algeternal.com) solves this problem by growing microalgae at scale faster, more reliably, cleaner and at a lower cost for use as alternative feedstock in multiple products and for carbon capture, water treatment, and soil rejuvenation. We currently make the ElixEarth Soil Amendment (www.elixearth.com) and the AlgAllure Skin Care Line (www.algallure.com).

Demonstration stage – proven at small, integrated scale, but not yet commercially available

Q: What do your technologies, products or services do and accomplish – how does it (they) work, who is it (they) aimed for? 

We can supply algae biomass as feedstock for virtually any downstream product. We currently make a soil amendment that allows reduction in synthetic fertilizer use while increasing crop quality and quantity, and rejuvenating soil health. Our skin care line provides safe, effective moisturizing and reversal of aging effects such as fine lines and wrinkles. Both products have received numerous favorable reviews with repeat customers.

Q: Competitively, what gives your technology, product or service set an edge in cost or performance, sustainability, or any other aspect, that makes it stand out from the crowd, In short, what makes it transformative? 

Low-cost patented technology provides vertical growth of microalgae with high-density production. AlgEternal’s solution offers a scalable modular design with contaminant control, water-efficient closed-loop, and better control of growth parameters. AlgEternal’s technology is also low maintenance, allows for more species of microalgae to be grown, allows for chemical-free daily harvesting, and can be remotely monitored — and controlled using AI.

Q: What are the 3 top milestones you have accomplished in the past 3 years?

1.     Proof of technology concept to grow microalgae in scalable quantities.

2.     Establishing pilot/demonstration scale algae production.

3.     Launching of two products at pilot scale: AlgAllure Skin Care and ElixEarth Soil Amendment.
