Malaysia to continue pushing for biodiesel despite rising palm oil prices

In Malaysia, Antara news agency reports the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources estimates biodiesel’s contribution to the national economy reached $4 billion in 2021, so it will continue to support the blending mandate despite rising palm oil prices. This year, implementation for voluntary sustainability indicators will begin while the wider program measuring environmental, social and economic sustainability is under development. The government is also testing higher blends of biodiesel to move beyond B30.
