Ethco investing $6.1M in 2MW biogas facility

In Malawi, the Maravi Post newspaper reports Ethco is investing $6.4 million to produce biogas from vinasse, with the energy produced going back into the facility’s ethanol production while the digestate will go to local farmers to improve their soil thanks to the potassium, nitrogen, phosphorous, zinc and sulfur. The facility produces 218 million liters of digestate annually which will be turned into 2MW of power from biogas in addition to the organic fertilizer for farmers.
