Avril to boost sunflower crushing to 1.1M tons in two years

In France, Reuters reports Avril will try to offset lower sunflower crushing in Ukraine by boosting its own crushing volumes. Although the company had been planning to increase crushing to help reduce reliance on imports, the war has sped up implementation. The company currently crushes around 700,000 metric tons of sunflower but hopes to expand that to 1.1 million tons in the next two years. In line with increased crushing, farmers are expected to boost sunflower planted area to 900,000 hectares during the same period.
