Raízen to invest $60.4M in second Sao Paulo biogas plant

April 27, 2022 |

In Brazil, Valor Economico reports that eight months after starring in the largest IPO in the country in 2021, Raízen, the fourth largest Brazilian company in terms of revenue, is once again showing the market the reason that led it to seek the favor of investors. With the support of funds raised in the market, it will begin to build, with its partner Geo Biogás and Tech, a biomethane plant made from residues from ethanol production in Piracicaba, in the interior of São Paulo. Investments are expected to reach $60.4 million.

It is the second industrial investment that Raízen has announced since going public – the first was in a cellulosic ethanol plant in Guariba (SP) – and the first investment in biomethane since then.
