Bihar inaugurates first greenfield ethanol plant

In India, the Economic Times newspaper reports that the chief minister of Bihar has inaugurated the state’s first greenfield ethanol plant. The grain-based facility was developed using zero-liquid discharge technology. It was designed to run on both rice husk as well as corn and rice, all of which will be bought directly from local farmers. The DDGS produced as a byproduct will be sold locally as animal feed while the ethanol will be sold to Oil Marketing Companies.
