Repsol gets permission to expand Cartagena advanced biofuels project

In Spain, Europa Press reports the Department of Urban Planning of the Cartagena City Council has authorized the installation of new units in Repsol, within the C-46 project, for an amount of 3,465,940 euros for the production of biofuels. On March 7, the company began the construction of the first advanced biofuels plant in Spain, in which it is investing 200 million euros. This plant will have the capacity to produce 250,000 metric tons per year of advanced biofuels such as biodiesel, biojet, bionaphtha and biopropane, for use in planes, ships, trucks or cars, and which will reduce 900,000 tons of CO2 per year.
