French E85 sales jump 54% on year

June 22, 2022 |

In France, Euractiv reports E85 sales rose 53% year-on-year for the May 2021-April 2022 period, in part fueled by higher fossil fuel prices as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The jump in consumption led to E85 taking an 6.2% share of the national fuel market as of April 2022. The number of stations offering E85 has nearly tripled since 2018, reaching 2,856 in 2022 compared to 1,015 four years ago. Sweden is Europe’s other main E85 market while in Germany it has all but disappeared.
