UK and Germany seen pushing for G7 to suspend biofuel mandates this weekend

In the UK, Reuters reports that the UK and Germany are expected to push G7 ministers meeting this weekend to roll back their biofuel mandates in an effort to increase food security in light of high energy prices due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The International Food Policy Research Institute told Reuters that national biofuel blending policies should have an off button in cases of time of food insecurity. The UK nor Germany have yet made moves to waive their blending mandates.
