Thai Tapioca Ethanol Association pushes for E20 and E85 support

July 12, 2022 |

In Thailand, the Bangkok Post newspaper reports the Tapioca Ethanol Association is calling for further support to E20 and E85 blends in an effort to fight rising fuel prices in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Currently E10 commands 75% of the national fuel market while the higher blends only account for 22%. Drivers prefer E10 to the higher blends, however, as they feel the fuel provides more power. Falling oil exports from Libya are supporting further increases in fossil fuel prices which the Tapioca association feels could be offset with more ethanol blending.
