Zambia to trial E10 in August with Sunbird Bioenergy’s cassava-based ethanol

In Zambia, Bioenergy Insight reports that Sunbird Bioenergy expects to test its cassava-based ethanol blended into gasoline at a rate of 10% in August. The trial will be done by Indeni Petroleum Refinery in Ndola. With most of the company’s 5,000 outgrowers expected to start harvesting their cassava in the next few weeks, the intention to be able to start blending 10% ethanol across the country. The cassava harvested for the ethanol that will be trialed was harvested ahead of time due to the Minister of Energy’s request that the blending trial take place in August.
