Peru’s president under investigation for corruption around biodiesel procurement

In Peru, Colombia’s La Republica newspaper reports the National Prosecutor initiated a preliminary investigation against the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, for alleged crimes committed in the purchase of biodiesel in Petroperú.

Through social networks this Friday, July 22, the Public Ministry explained that the provision of January 4 of this year was annulled, when the then prosecutor of the Nation, Zoraida Ávalos, suspended the start of the investigations against the chief of State until the end of his presidential term.
