Indonesian companies team on biofuel production from wastewater

In Indonesia, the Malaysia Reserve newspaper reports Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) has teamed with EMB Business Sdn Bhd to use wastewater processing for ethanol and biogas production. The companies say that 1.5% of 15 liters of wastewater can become ethanol and 15% can become biogas. They expect to build a commercial scale facility for processing and production in the next three years. Universiti Teknologi MARA has supported the technology development for the project with its process for producing ethanol from wastewater at room temperature.
