FutureGen Michigan secures rezoning for potential bioenergy facility

August 9, 2022 |

In Michigan, FutureGen Michigan has sought rezoning of 33 acres in a newly annexed part of the town of Holland for what could potentially be a biofuel or biomass-based electricity facility. The City Council approved the rezoning application in an ordinary business meeting last week. In addition to energy, the technology FutureGen Michigan plans to use would also result in a semi-activated carbon co-product. An historic home site was kept out of the rezoning but was consulted during the process regarding their potential inclusion.
