In California, DTN reports the U.S. District Court for the District of Northern California in San Francisco has given the Environmental Protection Agency a September 30 deadline to draft rules regarding the use of pesticide-treated seeds for ethanol production or not, which it was expected to do in 2017. Environmental groups, in response to pollution resulting from AltEn’s use of pesticide-treated seeds in Nebraska, sued the agency last December in order to force the rulemaking.
