Navigator CO2 Ventures sues four landowners for forbidding access to survey land

September 14, 2022 |

In Iowa, the Beatrice Daily Sun reports that Navigator CO2 Ventures has sued four landowners in three counties who refused to allow the company to survey their land for its proposed carbon pipeline. The company’s land agents have received threats of physical violence by landowners who didn’t want the surveys to take place, from nearly be run over by a landowner in his vehicle or threatening to set the dogs loose. Iowa law allows for pipeline companies to enter private property for surveys when given 10 days’ notice, so the suits are seeking injunctions to gain access with support from the local sheriff.
