Argentine ethanol production maintains record high as biodiesel exports recover

October 13, 2022 |

In Argentina, the Clarin newspaper reports that everything indicates that the local biofuel market is preparing to close a good year. On the one hand, the production of ethanol from corn, focused on the local market, maintained a historically high production rate during the first seven months of 2022 and its input/output ratio remains above the values of 2021. On the other hand, biodiesel, whose main destination is export, has seen high prices in historical terms and the tons shipped so far this year reflect a recovery compared to previous cycles, allowing the projection of foreign exchange earnings from exports that would set a new record.
