Embraer to test business jets on 100% SAF in Q1 2023

October 19, 2022 |

In Florida, AINonline reported that Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer expects to carry out 100% SAF tests using business jets next year.

According to Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano, SAF tests will be performed using a Phenom light jet and a Praetor midsize jet in the first quarter of 2023.

The executive also noted Embraer’s recent demonstration test flights on 100% sustainable aviation fuel using one of its E195-E2 regional jets, which flew with one engine burning neat SAF while the other used a 50% SAF blend.

Earlier this year, Embraer signed a letter of intent with Brazilian renewable fuel provider Raizen to boost the development of the SAF production ecosystem. “We’re very much embedded in the source part of the process so that we can learn,” Amalfitano was quoted as saying.
