Malaysia, EU agree to cooperate on SAF development

In Malaysia, Malaymail reported that Malaysia and the European Union (EU) have agreed to explore further cooperation with the aim of developing sustainable aviation fuel, Malaysia’s Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said.

The minister said that the cooperation between Malaysia and the European Union includes making SAF more accessible and affordable in the future, in addition to promoting the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme Agenda for International Aviation (Corsia).

According to the report, these matters were discussed during the bilateral meeting between the Malaysian delegation led by Minister of Transport and the EU delegation led by the general director of the European Commission’s department for Mobility and Transport, Henrik Hololei, at the recent 28th Asean Transport Ministers Meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
