Uttar Pradesh launches draft rules for biodiesel production, distribution and sale

In India, the Hindustan Times newspaper reports Uttar Pradesh’s New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (NEDA) has released its draft guidelines for biodiesel as part of the recently released Bioenergy Policy 2022 and are now open for public comment. The guidelines include rules for production, distribution and sale within the state. Biodiesel production and storage isn’t currently regulated but public sale isn’t allowed. Other states have allowed the sale of biodiesel since 2019 but that is now set to change.
