Oman’s be’ah awards ILF Consulting Engineers consultancy for waste-to-energy plant

In Oman, The Oman Times reported that Oman Environmental Service Holding Company (be’ah) awarded ILF Consulting Engineers, an international energy and environmental consultant, the tender for consultancy services of the waste-to-energy plant to be built in co-operation with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP).

The waste-to-energy plant is expected to dramatically reduce the carbon footprint and promote a circular economy in Oman, according to be’ah.

Under the terms of the agreement, ILF Consulting Engineers is expected to provide technical, financial and legal consultancy support during the project’s preparation, pre-qualification, RFQ development and tender stages, in addition to providing be’ah with inputs in the selection stage. 

The waste-to-energy plant is designed to process 4,500 tons of municipal solid waste per day and it will generate 140 MW of electricity.
