German toymaker expands line of bioplastic play sets

In Germany, Playmobil will soon expand its Wiltopia bioplastic range of play sets to include a Tropical Jungle Playground and a Paddling Tour with River Dolphins.

Set to launch in 2023, the new sets come after Playmobil’s first bioplastic toy offering—an animal-themed playset—continues to collect accolades. The set has been named 2022’s most successful sustainable toy launch by NPD UK, won a gold medal in the Best Eco Toy category at the BlogOn Awards, and earned bronze placement for MadeForMums’ Best Eco Toy Award.

“Wiltopia has seen great success this year across the Playmobil business; the animals and their educational content have gone down a storm,” says Adam Moore, marketing communications manager for Playmobil. “2023 looks to continue the trend with some great products coming early in the year which will have marketing support across key times of the year.”
