Haryana to support cooperative sugar mills in installing ethanol production capacity

November 16, 2022 |

In India, the Hindustan Times newspaper reports that Haryana’s state government will support cooperative sugarcane mills so that all of them can set up ethanol production. Thanks to increasing ethanol demand in line with the country’s upcoming 20% ethanol blending mandate and the introduction of flex-fuel vehicles in the country, the state government believes having ethanol production online will help the struggling mills to boost their financial health and be able to pay sugarcane farmers on time.
