P2 Science launches a biobased range of pigment dispersions

November 17, 2022 |

In Connecticut, green chemistry firm P2 Science (P2) announced the launch of a range of biobased and patented pigment dispersions under the tradename Citrosperse.

The line of 10 color dispersions was developed in collaboration with American Colors,  of Sandusky, OH and is marketed exclusively by P2. Like other P2 products, the Citrosperse range is built on P2’s proprietary Citropol platform. As such, its supply chain extends back to upcycled forestry by-products from Forest Stewardship Council certified pine trees.

The company also noted that the commercial production of Citrosperse products is already underway at the American Colors facility in Sandusky.

“There has been a huge need in the market for pigment dispersions that are both super-high performing and built on sustainable dispersion technology,” said Neil Burns, CEO of P2. “By working closely with our partners at American Colors, we have more than met that need. Citrosperse dispersions have very high pigment loading, remarkable color intensity and of course are built on Citropol technology that is biodegradable, biorenewable and biocompatible.”

Investors in P2 include BASF Venture Capital, Heritage Group Ventures and Chanel.
