Salta’s Chamber of Deputies approves biofuels law for Argentine province

In Argentina, Nuevo Diario de Salta reported that the Chamber of Deputies of Salta province approved a bill to promote the production and consumption of biofuels has in the province.

The bill still needs to be approved by the local Senate.

Lawmaker Patricia Hucena, president of the Treasury and Budget commission, stated that this initiative seeks to create a framework that regulates the production, storage, commercialization and blending of biofuels throughout the territory of Salta.

“The fundamental point of the project is to generate a framework law to begin to encourage and promote the local production of biofuels for consumption and attract new investments, for which the executive branch should take advantage of programs such as transportation services in the province,” Hucena said.
