Maersk wants 25% of its fleet on green fuels by 2030

November 23, 2022 |

In Denmark, Ship and Bunker reports A.P. Moller-Maersk plans for 25% of its cargo fleet to use green fuels by 2030. Data shows that 19 methanol-fueled ships are on order for delivery by 2025, representing about 296,100 TEU, 7% of its fleet capacity. To reach the company’s 25% target would require securing another 45 ships with 17,000 TEU. The company’s green fuels language means it could use biofuel bunkering if its preferred methanol was not available.
