Indonesia’s president calls for mechanism to roll out B35

December 6, 2022 |

In Indonesia, Reuters reports the president has asked his government to create a mechanism allowing for the rollout of B35. Currently, the country blends 30% biodiesel and has been running trials on 40% biodiesel to facilitate future higher blends. The aim is for the country to further reduce its fossil fuel imports while ensuring high palm oil prices for farmers. The country has been suffering from increasing inflation, which it blames on global macroeconomic factors and extreme weather.
