In Washington, Iowa’s WCMY radio reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production fell to 1.061 million barrels a day last week due to continued pressure on crush margins. Crush margins have fallen to the lowest level this year, according to analysis from Iowa State University’s Center for Agricultural and Rural Development. Even though production fell, stocks increased to the highest level since April at 24.409 million barrels, 3.526 million barrels higher than the same time last year, indicating slowing demand.
