In Oregon, Willamette Week newspaper reports that there are concerns about biodiesel availability following Portland’s decision to switch all medium and heavy vehicles in the city to biodiesel, yet Neste has recently purchased SeQuential and will end biodiesel production just prior to closing of the sale in the next month. Instead, SeQuential will supply used cooking oil to the renewable diesel facility under transition in Martinez, California instead of producing biodiesel, leaving some in the Portland area concerned there won’t be local supplies for the city’s fuel transition.
