In India, SimpleFlying reports Honeywell India Technology Center and others are in discussions with India’s primary public policy think tank, NITI Ayog, about a potential 1% sustainable aviation fuel blending policy to help get SAF off the ground in the country, with ethanol seen as a top potential feedstock for the fuel. When a policy is established will be directly related to production technology availability with several options currently being explored. The Indian government has been pushing for a 20% ethanol blending mandate for road transportation by 2025 and vigorously supporting production through a wide range of financial incentives.
