Grass from Isle of Wight Festival site to become year-round biogas feedstock

February 14, 2023 |

In the UK, Isle of Wight radio reports that Black Dog Biogas has teamed up with Solo Agency to produce more than 950,000 kWh of electricity using turf from the island’s famous festival site, more than double what the festival consumes. Grass is to be harvested before and after the event held every June. Since 2015, the Black Dog Biogas plant has used corn, whole crop cereals and grass from the island as feedstock. The plant also supplies power to the Vestas Offshore Wind Blades facility.
