Iowa’s farm bureau pitted against its renewable fuels association over pipeline laws

In Iowa, Radio Iowa reports a bill backed by the state’s Farm Bureau but opposed by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association that has passed a state house subcommittee would require landowners along 90% of the proposed CO2 pipelines to voluntarily grant permission before land surveyors could enter their property. The IFB says that land rights and the pipeline can go together while the IRFA feels the bill would kill the pipeline projects. A state senator has proposed five separate bills that would limit the pipeline developments.
