Ethanol production slips due to winter weather while blending increases

March 2, 2023 |

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Energy Information Agency data shows ethanol production fell slightly to 1.003 million barrels a day last week due to winter weather impacting feedstock supply and delivery. Ethanol stocks fell even further than production to 24.775 million barrels, down by 813,000 barrels from the week before, while production fell by just 26,000 barrels per day, which the Renewable Fuels Association said is due to refiners and blenders increasing blending levels by 2% during the period.
