Iberia calls for SAF incentives in Europe

In Spain, Investing.com reported that the executive president of Spanish airline Iberia, Javier Sánchez-Prieto, has requested a stable regulatory framework and incentives for the production of SAF so that Europe can compete with the United States and the United Kingdom, where SAF production is already subsidized. Sánchez-Prieto explained that future hydrogen- or electricity-powered aircraft will still take at least 30 years, which is why the SAF is the only fuel that can significantly contribute to reducing polluting gas emissions, according to the report. “Airports and planes are ready for the use of the SAF, but Europe is not making the transition”, the executive added.
