March 23, 2023 |

In Iowa, the Iowa Capital Dispatch reports that House File 565 restricting the use of eminent domain for carbon dioxide pipelines only when 90% of the route has achieved voluntary easements has passed the House of Representatives and will now move to the state’s Senate where the bill is expected to meet with resistance. The proposed legislation also includes evaluation of current pipeline eminent domain regulations via a specially created study committee, as well as compensation to farmers who suffer from crop yields due to the pipeline.
