In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports USDA data shows that corn consumption for ethanol production fell in February 399.844 million bushels, 9% lower on the month and 2% lower on the year. Poor crushing margins met lower demand due to fears of higher fuel prices, weighing on corn demand for crushing.
The soybean crush also fell in February to 177 million bushels, 14 million bushels lower than the month prior, but 3 million bushels more than the same period last year.
