Shell expects Rotterdam SAF plant online by 2025

In the Netherlands, Platts reports Shell expects its 820,000 metric ton per year HEFA-based sustainable aviation fuel plant in Rotterdam to be completed in the next two years when it expects its global installed production capacity to reach 2 million tons per year, representing 10% of global SAF market share. Although SAF demand is picking up in the US and Europe, it has been slow in Asia which led it drop plans for production in Singapore. The lack of policy support for SAF in Asia has hindered uptake in the region.
