Hamburg Airport teams with partners to test hydrogen handling over next two years

In Germany, SimpleFlying reports Hamburg Airport has teamed up with Lufthansa Technik together with the German Aerospace Center and the Center for Applied Aeronautical Research to test hydrogen handling over the next two years to prepare for using hydrogen as a sustainable aviation fuel. A three-decade-old Airbus A320 located at Lufthansa Technik’s Hamburg base, known as the Hydrogen Aviation Lab, will be used for testing the effects of hydrogen on maintenance and ground processes during the project.
