VT Group and FinCo Group to trial 100% FAME on ships

In the Netherlands, VT Group (Verenigde Tankrederij BV) has joined forces with FinCo Group, an independent supplier of sustainable energy solutions, to jointly make an ambitious contribution to the necessary CO2 reduction in the inland shipping sector.

Both companies want to lead the way in the field of sustainability and demonstrate the possibilities of biodiesel in inland shipping. That is why, where possible, they test different biofuels on different ships, a unique opportunity to gain experience. Over the past nine months, a pilot with 100% FAME has been carried out on the VT Group ship ‘MTS Vlissingen’.

For this pilot, VT Group, in consultation with FinCo, adjusted the conditioning of the fuel supply system on the ship. FinCo then supplied the required 100% FAME, which was partly purchased from Argent Energy.
