India urges G20 nations to collaborate to develop full potential of the biofuels market

In India, Mint reported that the country’s secretary of petroleum and natural gas, Pankaj Jain, said that G20 nations should work together to tap into the full potential of biofuels.

Noting biofuels’ contributions towards economic prosperity, energy security, and affordability, the official called for increased collaboration among G20 countries to accelerate the development of the biofuels market at a global level. He underlined the technological advancements that have provided diverse biofuel feedstock options such as sugarcane, corn, agricultural waste and bamboo, according to the report.

Jain also highlighted the growing significance of biofuels in transitioning to cleaner energy sources as well as their wide-ranging applications, techno-commercial viability, and financing opportunities.
