Group of Republican representatives tell EPA to come up with better offer on SREs

In Washington, 23 Republican representatives from Midwest states sent a letter to the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency asking him to come up with a new proposal to compensate ethanol producers, and therefore farmers who have suffered from low corn prices due to a lack of ethanol demand, because they don’t feel recent proposals go far enough. Between 2016 and 2018, the equivalent of 4 billion gallons of ethanol demand has been lost due to small refinery hardship waivers.
